Spring training results
Zac Gallen was pounded for eight runs off of four hits, four walks, and a K in one and two third’s innings pitched yesterday as the St. Louis Cardinals demolished the Marlins 13-6. Justin Nicolino, Jumbo Diaz, and Severino Gonzalez were also all touched up in the effort; only Kyle Barraclough pitched a clean inning as his spring ERA remains a sparkling 0.00.
The hits for the Marlins were scattered up and down the board; middle infield hopeful Yadiel Rivera stood out with a single and a walk, and shortstop Christhian Adames had a two-RBI double off of Brett Cecil in the third.
With the loss, the Marlins fall to 13-10 in Grapefruit league play. They will face the Houston Astros today at 1:05 eastern, it will be Nick Neidert vs Charlie Morton.
