The "I'm not surprised" moves
Paul Campbell - Campbell is a no surprise deletion after only pitching for 8 innings in AAA last season because of injury.
Sean Guenther - No surprised either because he didn't pitch at all this season. I wish him the best in Detroit though.
Jake Fishman - He has a decent performance in low sample this season but this move feels inevitable after DFA'ing him twice last season.
The " I don't want it but it's necessary" moves
Jordan Holloway - I still believe in him being a average bullpen piece but we already have plenty of that
.Bryan Hoeing - He's the Marlins No.30 prospect in MLB pipeline but having 12.08 ERA in 12.2 IP is not 40-man worthy.
The " It caught me off guard" moves
Cody Poteet - Poteet is having a decent year in majors with 3.86 ERA in 28 IP before the injury happens so i'm definitely surprised that they DFA him. He will not pitch next season but i expect him to be the long reliever of Marlins in 2024 ( If he will not elect free agency)
Luke Williams - Williams is a personal favorite. Slashing .235/.290/.313 in 124 PA as a Marlin this season. The Marlins not optioning him to AAA until the last week of the season is the main reason why i'm confident that they will not DFA him this offseason.
Cole Sulser - This one really caught me off guard. There's no point this offseason that i see them giving up on Sulser even after last season disaster. I wonder what will be Marlins twitter reactions if he bounced back as a D-Back next season.
