<p>The Miami Marlins had finally scored their two runs to tie up the game against the Kansas City Royals, but Tom Koehler and the bullpen gave up four runs in three innings to seal the team's 6-2 loss.</p> <p><iframe style="border:1px solid black;" width="450" height="450" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="http://www.fangraphs.com/graphframe.aspx?config=0&static=0&type=livewins&num=0&h=450&w=450&date=2013-08-12&team=Royals&dh=0"></iframe><br><span>Source: <a href="http://www.fangraphs.com/livewins.aspx?date=2013-08-12&team=Royals&dh=0&season=2013">FanGraphs</a></span></p>
<p><b>Attendance:</b> 15,956<br><b>Hero of the Game:</b> <span>Greg Dobbs</span> (0.201 WPA)<br><b>Goat of the Game:</b> <span>Tom Koehler</span> (-0.288 WPA)<br><b>Play of the Game:</b> <span>Alcides Escobar</span> tripled to right field in the sixth inning. <span>Chris Getz</span> scored. (-0.218 WPA)</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.fishstripes.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Miami Marlins</a> got a poor performance from Tom Koehler in their matchup against <span>Wade Davis</span> and the <a href="https://www.royalsreview.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Kansas City Royals</a>. Neither pitcher was impressive, but Koehler struggled to even get one strikeout. His first whiff came in the fifth inning, but there were not many innings in which Koehler did not have multiple baserunners threatening to score. After six straight outs to start the game, Koehler had four straight innings (he did not complete the sixth) in which he allowed more than one baserunner on board.</p>
<p>In the fourth inning, with two outs on the board, Koehler allowed the first single of the game for him, but that was quickly followed by a triple by <span>Justin Maxwell</span> and a single by Chris Getz to score the first two runs of the night.</p>
<p>The Marlins finally came back after stranding multiple runners. In the top of the sixth, a fortuitous bounce on a <span>Giancarlo Stanton</span> single led to an error by <span>Jarrod Dyson</span> and put Stanton on third. <span>Logan Morrison</span> delivered him with a double, and a few batters later Greg Dobbs did the same to tie the game.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, that was where the buck would stop. Koehler recorded just one out before two singles and a triple led to two more Royals runs. <span>Dan Jennings</span> fared no better, allowing one of the inherited runners to score as well. Tack on an extra run in the seventh inning from a <span>Billy Butler</span> solo homer off of <span>Ryan Webb</span> and the Fish found themselves way behind and with another loss.</p>

<p>The Miami Marlins will visit the Kansas Cit Royals for the first time since renovations were made at the beautiful Kauffman Stadium. The Fish, however, are visiting and looking for wins rather than vacationing, and they will try to do that tonight with <span>Tom Koehler</span> facing off against <span>Wade Davis</span>.</p>
<p><strong>Pitching Matchup</strong></p>
<table class="sbnu-legacy-content-table" border="0" style=""><tbody style=""> <tr style=""> <th style="">Proj Win%</th> <th style="">Proj ERA</th> <th style="">FIP</th> <th style="">ERA</th> <th style="">Marlins</th> <th style="">Royals</th> <th style="">ERA</th> <th style="">FIP</th> <th style="">Proj ERA</th> <th style="">Proj Win%</th> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">.389</td> <td style="">5.01</td> <td style="">4.00</td> <td style="">4.40</td> <td style="">Koehler</td> <td style="">Davis</td> <td style="">5.42</td> <td style="">4.27</td> <td style="">4.36</td> <td style="">.455</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
<p>Koehler has had some surprisingly decent starts, and he is trying to keep his role as fifth starter as the season progresses. Wade Davis is in the same situation; after a dominant year in the bullpen, he is once again struggling as a starter. The good news is that his strikeouts are back, the same strikeouts that made him a top prospect.</p>
<p><strong>Lineup</strong></p>
<table class="sbnu-legacy-content-table" border="0" style=""><tbody style=""> <tr style=""> <th style="">Order</th> <th style="">Player</th> <th style="">Proj wOBA vs. RHP</th> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">1</td> <td style=""><span>Christian Yelich</span></td> <td style="">.321</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">2</td> <td style=""><span>Donovan Solano</span></td> <td style="">.278</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">3</td> <td style=""><span>Giancarlo Stanton</span></td> <td style="">.393</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">4</td> <td style=""><span>Logan Morrison</span></td> <td style="">.355</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">5</td> <td style=""><span>Ed Lucas</span></td> <td style="">.282</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">6</td> <td style=""><span>Greg Dobbs</span></td> <td style="">.286</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">7</td> <td style=""><span>Adeiny Hechavarria</span></td> <td style="">.271</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">8</td> <td style=""><span>Jake Marisnick</span></td> <td style="">.292</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">9</td> <td style=""><span>Jeff Mathis</span></td> <td style="">.255</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
<p>My goodness this lineup. The good news is that at least Logan Morrison is back in there after a day with <span>Placido Polanco</span> batting cleanup.</p>
<p><strong>Bold Prediction: Royals def. Marlins 5-3</strong></p>
