<p>Christian Yelich had an excellent debut for the Miami Marlins last night against the Colorado Rockies, and you can see the highlights here.</p> <p>Yesterday night, the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.fishstripes.com/">Miami Marlins</a> took on the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.purplerow.com/">Colorado Rockies</a> in a game with major implications. No, not because the Fish are competing, but because of the debuts of <span>Christian Yelich</span> and <span>Jake Marisnick</span>. While Marisnick went 0-for-4 in his opening game, Christian Yelich had an excellent debut, with three hits and two RBI in four plate appearances.</p>
<p><object width="400" height="254"><param name="movie" value="undefined/shared/flash/video/share/ObjectEmbedFrame.swf?content_id=29079009&width=400&height=254&property=mlb">

<p>Yelich's best hit was his second one, which was a well-struck line drive to center field. His first Major League hit was also well-hit, but on the ground and through the right side of the infield. Either way, all three hits were hit hard and displayed Yelich's textbook swing mechanics.</p>
<p>Whether the Marlins made the right move or not to bring up Yelich (and we here at Fish Stripes contend that they did), Fish fans are going to get a chance to enjoy one of the best hitting prospects in the minors and supposedly the purest swing among all prospects. Just from last night's debut, fans have to be confident in Yelich's chances to stick, and with a little more filling out physically, those hard-hit singles and future doubles should turn into more home runs.</p>
<p>It may very well be a fun time to be a Marlins fan for a change.</p>

Fresh off a two-hit performance in last week's Future's Game, Yelich went 3-for-4 and drove in two of the Fish's four runs.</p>

Alright, I'll admit that the .750 clip probably won't be able to sustain itself but, hey, it's fun while it lasts.</p>
<p style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 1em; font-family: 'Mercury SSm A', 'Mercury SSm B', Georgia, serif; line-height: 26.666667938232422px; color: #292929; font-size: 15.555556297302246px;">For an offense that's desperate to score runs, Yelich spot at number two in the order will allow for plenty of opportunities for <span>Giancarlo Stanton</span> and <span>Logan Morrison</span> to drive in runs. <p>The <a href="https://www.fishstripes.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Miami Marlins</a> had a bunch of interesting storylines going during tonight's game versus the <a href="https://www.purplerow.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Colorado Rockies</a>. The major headline was the debut of Christian Yelich and <span>Jake Marisnick</span>, who were promoted after last night;s game. The other story was the first start of the second half by youngster Jose Fernandez, who is coming off a terrific All-Star appearance. Finally, it would be nice to see the Marlins get some more runs scored, especially coming from <span>Giancarlo Stanton</span>.</p>
<p>All of that happened and more in tonight's 4-2 win over the Rockies. <span>Christian Yelich's</span> debut was fantastic, as he notched three hits in four plate appearances, including two RBI singles that brought in crucial runs for the Marlins. Yelich started things off with a sharp grounder to the right field side on his second pitch in the majors. He continued in the third inning, when he lined his best-hit ball to right-center field, driving in Adeiny Hechavarria from second base. He topped off his spectacular night in the fifth inning with a third hit, driving in Jose Fernandez from third base on a hard-hit grounder that ate up the drawn-in D.J. LeMahieu.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Jose Fernandez was just polishing up another terrific outing. He struck out eight batters on nine whiffs, five of them coming out of the strike zone. He also walked two batters and gave up a mammoth solo home run to <span>Todd Helton</span>, but he recovered from some tough spots and got key defensive plays. That included a double play by the middle infield, an outfield bomb from Stanton that caught <span>Dexter Fowler</span>, and Fernandez's pickoff that erased a runner.</p>
<p>Finally, Giancarlo Stanton got in on the act and had some fun as well, as he blasted his 11th home run of the season in the eighth inning to give the Marlins some insurance runs after Fernandez the score to get to 3-2 in the sixth inning.</p>
<p>If there was one disappointment on the night, it was that Jake Marisnick did not enjoy as successful a debut. He went 0-for-4 with three groundouts and a pop up to start his big league career. Nevertheless, the Marlins had to be happy with the youth on display tonight.</p>

<p><strong>Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Rockies 4-2</strong></p>
<p><strong>UPDATE:</strong></p>
<h5>Lineup</h5>
<table class="sbnu-legacy-content-table" border="0" style=""><tbody style=""> <tr style=""> <th style="">Order</th> <th style="">Player</th> <th style="">Proj wOBA vs. RHP</th> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">1</td> <td style=""><span>Adeiny Hechavarria</span></td> <td style="">.270</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">2</td> <td style="">Christian Yelich</td> <td style="">---</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">3</td> <td style=""><span>Giancarlo Stanton</span></td> <td style="">.394</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">4</td> <td style=""><span>Logan Morrison</span></td> <td style="">.355</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">5</td> <td style=""><span>Ed Lucas</span></td> <td style="">---</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">6</td> <td style="">Jake Marisnick</td> <td style="">---</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">7</td> <td style=""><span>Donovan Solano</span></td> <td style="">.278</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">8</td> <td style=""><span>Jeff Mathis</span></td> <td style="">.255</td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="">9</td> <td style="">Pitcher</td> <td style="">---</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
<p>Actually, this is about what I expected from the revamped lineup card. Christian Yelich is being rightfully placed near the top of the lineup, and chances are he will soon be replacing a regressing Adeiny Hechavarria any time now. Giancarlo Stanton should be batting cleanup and Logan Morrison should probably bat second, but I do not ahve a whole lot of complaints otherwise.</p>
