Tyler Wilson hosts a wide-ranging interview with accomplished radio broadcaster Glenn Geffner. How does Glenn prepare for games each night? What advice does he have for aspiring broadcasters? How satisfied is he with this season’s experimental rule changes and the current MLB style of play? And what does he expect from the Marlins in 2020 and beyond?
Enjoy Episode 77!
This unique 2020 season is Geffner’s 13th with the Marlins radio broadcast team, his 24th in the Major Leagues and 29th in professional baseball as a broadcaster and front office executive. He previously called games for the Boston Red Sox—earning World Series rings in 2004 and 2007—and the San Diego Padres prior to returning to his native South Florida. Geffner is a proud graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Simply put, his approach to the job is, “I want to bring something to the broadcast every night that nobody else has.”
Geffner previously came on Fish Bites in June 2019, when the Marlins rebuild was in a much different place.
