- Tuesday’s minor league scores: Triple-A Jacksonville won, 2-1; Double-A Pensacola lost, 4-2; High-A Beloit won, 11-5; Low-A Jupiter won, 7-6; FCL Marlins won, 4-1, and lost, 2-0; DSL Marlins lost, 4-0. Jupiter third baseman Bennett Hostetler is now hitting .337 through his first month-plus of pro ball. Major league-caliber bat flip on his opposite-field home run.
- FiveThirtyEight gives the Marlins a 49% chance to win their next game against the Mets.
- Pete Alonso mashed his 100th career home run against Edward Cabrera, then his 101st a few hours later off of Taylor Williams, who was making his Marlins debut.
- Cabrera had his worst outing in The Show, but a person in a giant Cinnamon Toast Crunch costume brought some levity to the situation.
- Old friend Adam Duvall increased his season total to 97 runs batted in, creating some breathing room between himself and Jesús Aguilar (93) for the National League lead. Aguilar sat out Tuesday’s game with left knee soreness.
