Welcome to Thursday’s Marlins (65-93, -67 RD) vs. Mets (75-83, -36 RD) game thread. This game will determine who wins the season series (currently tied at nine wins apiece).

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. They give you something to focus on even with the team out of World Series contention. Please use this link!

Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

The Fish Picks leaderboard is updated daily. Congrats to D0ubleZ and SeanF, both of whom picked a Perfect Game on Wednesday.

At the end of each month, the Fish Picks winner—whoever has the percentage of correct picks (among qualifiers)—will receive a hand-painted Trevor Rogers baseball card.

Marlins Starting Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  3. LF Lewis Brinson
  4. RF Jesús Sánchez
  5. C Nick Fortes
  6. 1B Lewin Díaz
  7. 3B Eddy Alvarez
  8. CF Magneuris Sierra
  9. RHP Edward Cabrera (2021 season stats: 5.79 ERA, 6.76 FIP, 20.6 K%, 46.9 HardHit% in 23.1 IP)
Edward Cabrera - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Cabrera will be making his seventh and final start of the season. Will this be the night that the Marlins take off the training wheels and allow him to reach 80 pitches?! I’m not getting my hopes up...De La Cruz enters play with a sub-.300 batting average for the first time since August 11...The most well-rested pitchers available in the Marlins bullpen are Anthony Bass, Anthony Bender, Paul Campbell, Sean Guenther, Luís Madero and Zach Pop.

Mets Starting Lineup

  1. CF Brandon Nimmo
  2. SS Francisco Lindor
  3. RF Michael Conforto
  4. 1B Pete Alonso
  5. 2B Javier Báez
  6. LF Jeff McNeil
  7. 3B Jonathan Villar
  8. C James McCann
  9. LHP Rich Hill (2021 season stats: 3.87 ERA, 4.31 ERA, 22.6 K%, 34.8 HardHit% in 153.2 IP)
Rich Hill - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Brandon Nimmo has raked against the Marlins over the last two seasons, with the most surprising aspect of his game being his contact skills. The outfielder has struck out only nine times in 83 plate appearances vs. Miami since 2020...Closer Edwin Díaz has a streak of five straight hitless outings, while setup man Aaron Loup owns MLB’s lowest earned run average among qualified relievers this year (0.95 ERA).
