Pirates Starting Lineup

  1. 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes
  2. SS Kevin Newman
  3. CF Bryan Reynolds
  4. 1B Yoshi Tsutsugo
  5. LF Anthony Alford
  6. C Michael Pérez
  7. RF Cole Tucker
  8. 2B Hoy Park
  9. RHP Bryse Wilson (2021 season stats: 4.97 ERA, 5.51 FIP, 14.1 K%, 42.6 HardHit% in 67.0 IP)
Bryse Wilson - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Wilson is getting a long lease to prove himself as a starter. That kind of opportunity wasn’t there when he originally came up through the Braves organization...David Bednar was emerging as a capable closer for Pittsburgh, he went down with a right oblique strain. The injury likely ends his season, and at the very least, sidelines him for this series.

Marlins Starting Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  3. CF Bryan De La Cruz
  4. RF Jesús Sánchez
  5. LF Lewis Brinson
  6. 1B Lewin Díaz
  7. C Nick Fortes
  8. 3B Eddy Alvarez
  9. RHP Edward Cabrera (2021 season stats: 6.61 ERA, 8.61 FIP, 12.7 K%, 47.9 HardHit% in 16.1 IP)
Edward Cabrera - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Identical lineup as the season opener except with Fortes behind the plate over Payton Henry...There’s no sugarcoating the fact that Cabrera has been bad through four career starts. Further complicating matters, he exited his previous outing early due to right toe soreness...The most well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen are Anthony Bender, Richard Bleier, Paul Campbell, Dylan Floro, Sean Guenther, Zach Pop and Taylor Williams.
