The Fish Picks leaderboard is updated daily. Congrats to @AlexSerranoOD, D0ubleZ and Ginger_taco, each of whom picked a Perfect Game on Saturday.

At the end of each month, the Fish Picks winner—whoever has the percentage of correct picks (among qualifiers)—will receive a hand-painted Trevor Rogers baseball card.

Everybody’s point totals have been reset for the start of August.

Cubs Starting Lineup

  1. CF Rafael Ortega
  2. 1B Frank Schwindel
  3. LF Ian Happ
  4. 3B Matt Duffy
  5. 2B David Bote
  6. RF Jason Heyward
  7. C Robinson Chirinos
  8. SS Andrew Romine
  9. LHP Alec Mills (2021 season stats: 4.27 ERA, 4.14 FIP, 17.0 K%, 38.7 HardHit% in 71.2 IP)
Alec Mills - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: The Cubs stumble into the day on a 10-game losing streak...Arizona’s Tyler Gilbert threw a no-hitter on Saturday with an identical stat line to what Mills had in his own no-no last season (9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K).

Marlins Starting Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. CF Lewis Brinson
  5. 3B Brian Anderson
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. RF Bryan De La Cruz
  8. CF Magneuris Sierra
  9. RHP Elieser Hernandez

Notes: Hernandez has only started twice in the majors this season, both times departing early due to injury. It took him 10 weeks to make it back from a severe quad strain (occured while he was running the bases on June 3)...The overall production has been lousy, but Chisholm is improving his contact skills. Just a 11.8% strikeout rate since the All-Star break...The most well-rested pitchers available in the Marlins bullpen are Paul Campbell, Ross Detwiler, Sean Guenther, Jorge Guzman, David Hess, Steven Okert and Detwiler.
