Welcome to Monday’s Marlins (35-47, +20 RD) vs. Dodgers (53-31, +121 RD) game thread. The dream of returning to October is dead, but we can still enjoy the rest of this 2021 odyssey.
Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.
The Fish Picks leaderboard is updated daily. Congrats to LDogSr, who picked a Perfect Game on Sunday.

- RHP Walker Buehler (2021 season stats: 2.35 ERA, 3.56 FIP, 25.4 K%, 38.7 HardHit% in 103.1 IP)
Notes: The Dodgers come to LoanDepot Park riding a nine-game winning streak. They’ve got plenty of motivation to keep that going as the reigning World Series champions continue to trail the Giants in the NL West standings. That’s especially true for Buehler who is perhaps one decent outing away from being named to the NL All-Star team as an injury replacement...Former league MVPs Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger are both available off the bench.

- LHP Trevor Rogers (2021 season stats: 2.14 ERA, 2.61 FIP, 30.0 K%, 36.2 HardHit% in 92.1 IP)
In addition to scheduled ceremonies recognizing veterans and frontline heroes, the Marlins will ask fans to join the team after the final out to shine a light in a symbolic gesture to pay tribute to all of the Surfside victims, their families and first responders. Notes: The Rogers All-Star selection has been inevitable for weeks, but the Marlins coaching staff tried their best to surprise him with the news. It should go with saying that this will be one of the toughest matchups of his young career...Joe Panik gets his first chance to play in Miami as a member of the Fish. His career numbers at this ballpark aren’t particularly good (.220/.324/.288 in 69 PA)...The well-rested pitchers available in the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Ross Detwiler, Dylan Floro, David Hess, Steven Okert and Zach Pop.
