Padres Starting Lineup
- CF Trent Grisham
- SS Fernando Tatís Jr.
- 2B Jake Cronenworth
- 3B Manny Machado
- LF Tommy Pham
- 1B Eric Hosmer
- C Austin Nola
- RF Jurickson Profar
- LHP Blake Snell (2021 season stats: 5.21 ERA, 4.57 FIP, 28.2 K%, 41.5 HardHit% in 74.1 IP)
Notes: The Padres played 11 1⁄2 innings in Atlanta on Wednesday (the second game was suspended due to rain)...I liked Snell as a potential trade target for the Marlins last offseason. Thankfully, the club’s decision-makers decided to ignore me. The former AL Cy Young award winner has completed six innings in only two starts in 2021, which happen to be his only outings without allowing multiple walks...Nola is making his return from the injured list. He’s been sidelined since late May with a knee sprain...During Tatís only previous visit to Miami (July 16-18, 2019), he went 1-for-13 at the plate with a home run and eight strikeouts.
Marlins Starting Lineup
- SS Miguel Rojas
- CF Starling Marte
- 1B Jesús Aguilar
- RF Adam Duvall
- C Jorge Alfaro
- 3B Jon Berti
- LF Lewis Brinson
- 2B Joe Panik
- RHP Anthony Bender (2021 season stats: 2.27 ERA, 2.50 FIP, 32.5 K%, 29.6 HardHit% in 31.2 IP)
Notes: Newly recalled Jordan Holloway is expected to handle the bulk of the innings in relief of Bender...Isan Díaz has a 60.0 HardHit% since being recalled last week, which is about twice as high as his rate from the first half...With one more hit, Miguel Rojas will pass former teammate Adeiny Hechavarría (541) for sole possession of 17th place on the all-time Marlins hits list...The most well-rested options in the Marlins bullpen are Andrew Bellatti, Anthony Bender, Ross Detwiler, Holloway, Luís Madero and Zach Pop.
