- 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- CF Starling Marte
- RF Garrett Cooper
- LF Adam Duvall
- 1B Jesús Aguilar
- SS Miguel Rojas
- C Jorge Alfaro
- 3B Jon Berti
- RHP Pablo López (2021 season stats: 2.87 ERA, 3.27 FIP, 25.8 K%, 33.1 HardHit% in 91.0 IP)
Notes: The Marlins offense thrived on Wednesday in a unique way, becoming the only MLB team on record to score 11 runs in a game while also striking out 16 times with only one walk...Wednesday was the third anniversary of Pablo López’s major league debut...Thursday’s postponement in Philadelphia helped the Marlins from a rest and recovery standpoint. Also, the team’s flight arrived in Atlanta at approximately 9:46 p.m. ET, about three hours earlier than originally planned...López’s struggles at Truist Park have been well-documented. He started the infamous 29-9 game and hasn’t had any quality starts there in five attempts (he shined brightly on Sept. 24, 2020, but didn’t complete the 6.0 IP required for a QS).
- RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
- 1B Freddie Freeman
- 2B Ozzie Albies
- 3B Austin Riley
- SS Dansby Swanson
- CF Guillermo Heredia
- LF Abraham Almonte
- C William Contreras
- LHP Drew Smyly (2021 season stats: 4.79 ERA, 5.42 FIP, 19.7 K%, 43.0 HardHit% in 67.2 IP)
Notes: Acuña (mid back tightness) was scratched from Thursday’s lineup, but contributed off the bench later in the game and shouldn’t have any limitations for this series...Albies has been playing at an Acuña-like level over his last 11 games, reaching base safely in each one while slashing .326/.370/.721 with five home runs and five stolen bases...It’s been a lousy season overall for Smyly, though he has looked better of late, allowing only three total runs over his three previous starts.
