- The Marlins are hiring a new social media assistant (seasonal position). Perhaps not coincidentally, the team’s official Twitter account received strong backlash on Saturday for posting the unedited television broadcast footage of Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s inside-the-park home run. The video showed several seconds of Ronald Acuña Jr. writhing in pain, and was accompanied with a vague caption that led some to believe that the account was taunting Acuña.
- The club’s existing social media staff is standing in solidarity with the Cuban people amid ongoing political protests on the island.

- SS Yiddi Cappe, the Marlins’ top international signing earlier this year, singled for his first professional hit in the Dominican Summer League team’s season opener on Monday.
- According to Oddschecker, the Marlins have +10,000 odds of rallying for the NL East division title, +20,000 odds to win the NL pennant and +30,000 odds to become the most unlikely World Series champion ever. Sandy Alcantara has +6,600 odds to win the NL Cy Young award.
