Welcome to Sunday’s Marlins (29-35,+8 RD) vs. Braves (29-33, -2 RD) game thread. One more win by the Fish would move them into a virtual tie with Atlanta in the NL East standings.
Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

- RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
- 1B Freddie Freeman
- 2B Ozzie Albies
- LF Abraham Almonte
- 3B Austin Riley
- SS Ehire Adrianza
- C Kevan Smith
- CF Guillermo Heredia
- LHP Drew Smyly (2021 season stats: 5.82 ERA, 6.47 FIP, 19.2 K%, 47.2 HardHit% in 51.0 IP)
Notes: Atlanta’s signing of Smyly raised some eyebrows, as they guaranteed him $11 million based off only a handful of appearances during the 2020 season. It’s been a disaster. The veteran southpaw’s strikeout rate has been cut in half and he has allowed the third-most home runs of any pitcher in baseball. Today is his 32nd birthday, by the way...Dansby Swanson is riding the bench, unsurprising considering the matchup numbers below.
- SS Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- CF Starling Marte
- 1B Jesús Aguilar
- LF Corey Dickerson
- RF Adam Duvall
- C Jorge Alfaro
- 2B José Devers
- 3B Jon Berti
- RHP Pablo López (2021 season stats: 2.76 ERA, 3.18 FIP, 25.3 K%, 33.5 HardHit% in 75.0 IP)
Notes: Miguel Rojas (dislocated/fractured finger) has been assigned to Triple-A Jacksonville to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Barring any setbacks, his return from the injured list is only a few days away...Adam Duvall has a streak of five straight games recording at least one run batted in...The well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Adam Cimber, John Curtiss, Ross Detwiler, Yimi Garcia, Preston Guilmet and Zach Pop.
