Welcome to Friday’s Marlins (27-35,+5 RD) vs. Braves (29-31, -1 RD) game thread. Although very improbable, a series sweep by the Fish would move them into a virtual tie with Atlanta in the NL East standings.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real. Please use this link!

Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

Charlie Morton - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Morton leads the Braves pitching staff with 72 strikeouts despite not working particularly deep into his starts (only one time taking the mound for the seventh inning)...Freddie Freeman won 2020 NL MVP honors with a .341/.462/.640 slash line in 60 games. This will be Freeman’s 60th game of the 2021 season, and although he’s been homering at the same high rate, his overall production pales in comparison (.228/.350/.447).

Notes: Happy 28th birthday to Jorge Alfaro! He’s quietly playing at an excellent level since returning from injury, reaching base safely in his last eight starts. Nobody has stolen a base against Alfaro since his IL stint...The well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Anthony Bass, Anthony Bender, Richard Bleier, John Curtiss, Dylan Floro and Zach Pop.
