Diamondbacks Lineup

  1. CF Tim Locastro
  2. 3B Asdrubal Cabrera
  3. 1B Christian Walker
  4. 2B Eduardo Escobar
  5. RF Pavin Smith
  6. LF David Peralta
  7. SS Nick Ahmed
  8. C Stephen Vogt
  9. RHP Luke Weaver (2021 season stats: 4.91 ERA, 5.02 FIP, 20.9 K%, 44.2 HardHit% in 25.2 IP)
Luke Weaver - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Once again, the Diamondbacks won’t be able to expect much length from their starting pitcher. Weaver has completed six innings just once since the beginning of last season (17 starts)...The D-backs have the most runs scored in the majors. Carson Kelly is leading the charge with the highest FanGraphs Wins Above Replacement among all catchers (1.4 fWAR).

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  3. LF Corey Dickerson
  4. RF Adam Duvall
  5. 3B Brian Anderson
  6. 2B Isan Díaz
  7. CF Lewis Brinson
  8. C Sandy León
  9. LHP Ross Detwiler (2021 season stats: 3.12 ERA, 3.57 FIP, 24.4 K%, 26.1 HardHit% in 8.2 IP)

Notes: The Marlins could have gone with Pablo López on regular rest—he last started on April 30—but they’ve opted for a bullpen game. López will start Thursday instead...Following a poor 2020 campaign, Corey Dickerson has gotten back to elevating the ball and holding his own against lefties, as Juan Páez explains...In addition to Detwiler, the well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Anthony Bender, John Curtiss, Yimi García, Jordan Holloway and Zach Pop.
