Mets Lineup

  1. 3B Jonathan Villar
  2. SS Francisco Lindor
  3. RF Cameron Maybin
  4. LF Dominic Smith
  5. C Tomás Nido
  6. 2B José Peraza
  7. 1B Brandon Drury
  8. CF Johneshwy Fargas
  9. RHP Marcus Stroman (2021 season stats: 2.72 ERA, 4.08 FIP, 18.7 K%, 46.0 HardHit% in 46.1 IP)
Marcus Stroman - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: Jacob deGrom, Michael Conforto, Luis Guillorme, Jeff McNeil and Brandon Nimmo are among the players who had prominent roles for the Mets when these teams previously met. They’re all currently on the injured list...Stroman engineered a new splitter entering this season, but it represents less than 10% of his total pitch mix (primarily used versus lefties). Perhaps that will help him contain Corey Dickerson who has slashed .424/.441/.758 in 34 career plate appearances against Stroman.

Marlins Lineup

  1. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. LF Corey Dickerson
  4. RF Adam Duvall
  5. 3B Brian Anderson
  6. 1B Garrett Cooper
  7. C Sandy León
  8. CF Magneuris Sierra
  9. P John Curtiss
Jordan Holloway - 2021 Frequency of Pitches by Pitch Speed Baseball Savant

Notes: The Marlins’ team flight from Philadelphia arrived in Miami at 3:06 a.m. this morning...Jordan Holloway was initially listed as tonight’s starting pitcher, but it’s actually John Curtiss who will take the mound for the first inning or two...Catchers Sandy León and Chad Wallach have been complete liabilities in the batter’s box over the last two weeks...Since the beginning of 2020, the Fish are 14-8 with Magneuris Sierra in the starting lineup (despite Sierra’s pedestrian individual stats in those opportunities)...Aside from Holloway, the well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Anthony Bass, Anthony Bender, Richard Bleier, Dylan Floro and Yimi García.
