Welcome to Tuesday’s Marlins (18-22, +5 RD) vs. Phillies (21-20, -7 RD) game thread. This is the first meeting of these NL East rivals in 2021. Last season, the Marlins won seven of their 10 matchups.
During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real. Please use this link!
Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.
The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily. @JJFearnley currently sits atop the May competition by a single point.
At the end of each month, the Fish Picks points leader—whoever has the most total correct picks—will receive a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!
- 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- SS Miguel Rojas
- 1B Jesús Aguilar
- RF Adam Duvall
- LF Corey Dickerson
- 3B Brian Anderson
- C Sandy León
- CF Magneuris Sierra
- RHP Cody Poteet
Notes: Poteet will make his second major league start, returning to the active roster in place of the injured Lewis Brinson (10-day IL)...Magneuris Sierra tallied six hits last week, more than doubling his season total prior to that...The much-maligned Anthony Bass has seemingly figured something out with his slider. It has generated whiffs at least 50% of the time in each of his last five appearances, a threshold he rarely reached earlier in the season.
- LF Andrew McCutchen
- 2B Jean Segura
- RF Bryce Harper
- 1B Rhys Hoskins
- 3B Alec Bohm
- CF Odúbel Herrera
- C Andrew Knapp
- SS Nick Maton
- RHP Zack Wheeler (2021 season stats: 2.85 ERA, 2.85 FIP, 26.7 K%, 35.3 HardHit% in 53.2 IP)
Notes: Didi Gregorius is in the midst of possibly his worst all-around season. He’s been unable to cover the ground that’s usually expected of a shortstop, according to Statcast. Prior to the game, the Phillies put him on the 10-day IL with a right elbow impingement...Old friend J.T. Realmuto (wrist) has started only two games in the past week, but could still prove to be a factor in this series...Wheeler for the most part has enjoyed incredible success in his career against Miami.
