Welcome to Saturday’s Marlins (11-14, +11 RD) vs. Nationals (10-12, -21 RD) game thread. The Marlins won the season series between these teams last season, 6-4.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real. Please use this link!

Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

At the end of each month, the Fish Picks points leader—whoever has the most total correct picks—will receive a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade! Congrats to April 2021 champion MiamiMarlins_UK. Everybody’s point totals have been reset as we begin the month of May.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  3. RF Garrett Cooper
  4. LF Adam Duvall
  5. CF Lewis Brinson
  6. 3B Jon Berti
  7. C Chad Wallach
  8. 2B Isan Díaz
  9. RHP Paul Campbell (2021 season stats: 8.22 ERA, 3.47 FIP, 22.0 K%, 32.0 HardHit% in 7.2 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: The Marlins lost their seventh one-run game of the season on Friday after losing only eight such games during the entire 2020 campaign...This is officially Campbell’s first career start, though he served as the “bulk guy” in last Sunday’s game which gave us a glimpse at how he would approach going through a major league lineup multiple times...Our own Juan Páez draws attention to Jesús Aguilar’s constantly improving strikeout rate...The well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Richard Bleier, Adam Cimber, John Curtiss, Ross Detwiler, Jordan Holloway and Zach Pop.

Nationals Lineup

  1. SS Trea Turner
  2. 2B Josh Harrison
  3. RF Yadiel Hernandez
  4. LF Kyle Schwarber
  5. 1B Josh Bell
  6. 3B Starlin Castro
  7. CF Andrew Stevenson
  8. C Yan Gomes
  9. LHP Patrick Corbin (2021 season stats: 10.47 ERA, 8.34 FIP, 17.1 K%, 46.4 HardHit% in 16.1 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Corbin is coming off a nightmarish April. His signature slider—one of MLB’s best individual pitches from 2017-2019—has become a liability (Pitch Info pitch values rate it at -1.2 runs above average this season). Last time Corbin faced the Marlins (Sept. 19, 2019), he allowed a career-high 14 hits...Superstar Juan Soto (left shoulder strain) is eligible to return from the injured list.
