Welcome to Wednesday’s Marlins (1-4, -3 RD) vs. Cardinals (3-2, -4 RD) game thread.
Fish Picks has indeed returned for a third season! After receiving picks from 200-plus unique users in 2020 on fishstripes.com and the @fishstripes Twitter account, we are aiming for even more engagement. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.
Fans can find the props within game threads like this one or as the pinned tweet on our Twitter account. They will be posted at least four hours prior to the game’s scheduled first pitch (assuming both the Marlins and their opponent declare a probable starting pitcher by then). Generally, there will be five props per game, four about individual/team stats and the final one always being the moneyline pick (which team will win). Picks are only valid if commented or tweeted to us prior to first pitch.
Your goal every day is to “pick a perfect game” and choose the correct outcome for each prop. Whoever has the most perfect games each month receives a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!
The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.
Cardinals Lineup
- RF Tommy Edman
- 1B Paul Goldschmidt
- 3B Nolan Arenado
- SS Paul DeJong
- 2B Matt Carpenter
- C Yadier Molina
- LF Tyler O’Neill

Notes: Despite winning consecutive games, the Cardinals offense is striking out in 29.4% of their plate appearances this season (fifth-worst in MLB)...The talented yet oft-injured Alex Reyes has pitched on back-to-back days. He’s unlikely to be available for this game.
Marlins Lineup
- LF Corey Dickerson
- CF Starling Marte
- 1B Jesús Aguilar
- RF Garrett Cooper
- 3B Brian Anderson
- SS Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- 2B Jon Berti
- C Chad Wallach
- RHP Pablo López (2020 season stats: 3.61 ERA, 3.09 FIP, 24.6 K%, 32.3 HardHit% in 57.1 IP)

Notes: We’ve noted previously that López has thrived during his career when paired with Chad Wallach (3.00 ERA, .178 BA and .504 OPS allowed in 42.0 IP). That makes it unsurprisingly to see him get the starting nod over Jorge Alfaro who made costly defensive mistakes on Tuesday.
