Happy MiLB roster reveal day to those who celebrate

The 2021 Minor League Baseball season gets underway on Tuesday. Sometime today, the Marlins are expected to announce assignments for more than 100 players with the organization’s four full-season affiliates (Triple-A Jacksonville, Double-A Pensacola, High-A Beloit and Low-A Jupiter).

Some details have already trickled out. Right-hander Anthony Maldonado and outfielder Tristan Pompey are reporting to Double-A, while right-hander Eury Pérez is making his affiliated ball debut at Low-A. The vast majority of alternate training site (“Fish Tank”) players will take the field for the Jumbo Shrimp. Prospects Sixto Sánchez and Edward Cabrera are among those expected to be placed on the MiLB injured list.
