Welcome to Friday’s Marlins (11-13, +12 RD) vs. Nationals (9-12, -22 RD) game thread. The Marlins won the season series between these teams last season, 6-4.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

To make it possible for us to count all of your individual picks in an efficient manner (instead of just the “perfect games”), we are transitioning to this Fish Picks submission form. Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

At the end of each month, the Fish Picks points leader will receive a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  3. RF Garrett Cooper
  4. LF Adam Duvall
  5. CF Lewis Brinson
  6. 3B Jon Berti
  7. C Sandy León
  8. 2B Isan Díaz
  9. RHP Pablo López (2021 season stats: 2.93 ERA, 3.05 FIP, 28.6 K%, 34.7 HardHit% in 27.2 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Monte Harrison has been recalled from the Fish Tank for his first major league opportunity of the year, partially because Corey Dickerson is battling a groin issue. Don Mattingly is optimistic that Dickerson will be available off the bench tonight...Our own Juan Páez draws attention to Jesús Aguilar’s constantly improving strikeout rate...Hopefully the off day did Miguel Rojas some good. He struck out seven times in Milwaukee, the first time in his major league career with that many K’s over a three-game span...The Marlins offense has had their two highest-scoring games of the season—April 3 vs. Rays and April 13 vs. Braves—when facing left-handed starting pitchers (like they will tonight)...The well-rested pitchers available out of the Marlins bullpen (haven’t pitched in at least two days) are Anthony Bass, Richard Bleier, Adam Cimber, John Curtiss, Ross Detwiler, Jordan Holloway and Zach Pop.

Nationals Lineup

  1. SS Trea Turner
  2. 2B Josh Harrison
  3. RF Yadiel Hernandez
  4. 3B Starlin Castro
  5. 1B Josh Bell
  6. LF Kyle Schwarber
  7. C Alex Avila
  8. CF Víctor Robles
  9. LHP Jon Lester (2020 season stats: 5.16 ERA, 5.14 FIP, 15.9 K%, 38.9 HardHit% in 61.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Lester has been activated from the injured list to make his Nationals debut, beginning his 16th major league season. In his most recent simulated game, Lester reportedly got stretched to 90 pitches so Washington could allow him to work deep into this game if his performance justifies it. The 37-year-old left-hander ranks third among all active pitchers in career wins and innings pitched. ...Superstar Juan Soto (left shoulder strain) is eligible to return from the injured list.
