Welcome to Friday’s Marlins (8-10, +1 RD) vs. Giants (12-7, +10) game thread. Barring a postseason matchup, this four-game set will be the final meeting between these teams in 2021.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

To make it possible for us to count all of your individual picks in an efficient manner (instead of just the “perfect games”), we are transitioning to this Fish Picks submission form. For the rest of April, we will still accept picks here in the comments and at the @fishstripes Twitter account, but the submission form becomes the new normal on May 1. Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

At the end of each month, the Fish Picks points leader will receive a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Marlins Lineup

  1. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Garrett Cooper
  5. LF Adam Duvall
  6. 3B Jon Berti
  7. CF Lewis Brinson
  8. C Sandy León
  9. RHP Sandy Alcantara (2021 season stats: 3.28 ERA, 2.57 FIP, 28.0 K%, 43.5 HardHit% in 24.2 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Alcantara’s overall numbers thus far are impressive and still might be underselling how great he’s been. In his last outing against this same opponent, for example, he dominated through six innings before the Giants capitalized on a few mistake pitches and inflated his final line...With Sandy León getting the starting nod behind the plate, we will bear witness to the first all-Sandy battery in MLB history...Garrett Cooper made his return from groin soreness on Thursday as a pinch-hitter. The Marlins need his bat to wake up (zero barrels in 2021)...Corey Dickerson is seeking his 200th career double.

Giants Lineup

  1. 2B Tommy La Stella
  2. RF Mike Yastrzemski
  3. 3B Wilmer Flores
  4. 1B Brandon Belt
  5. LF Alex Dickerson
  6. C Buster Posey
  7. SS Brandon Crawford
  8. CF Austin Slater
  9. LHP Alex Wood (2021 season stats: 0.00 ERA, 1.50 FIP, 23.5 K%, 23.1 HardHit% in 5.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Evan Longoria (mild left hamstring tightness) is day-to-day...The Giants have pitched five consecutive shutouts when Curt Casali starts at catcher for them. That streak includes Wood’s season debut last Sunday in Miami...Don’t be misled by his paltry -16 wRC+—Mauricio Dubón has been very unlucky at the plate this season.
