Welcome to Thursday’s Marlins (8-9, +4 RD) vs. Giants (11-7, +7) game thread. Barring a postseason matchup, this four-game set will be the final meeting between these teams in 2021.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks prop bets fun. It’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

To make it possible for us to count all of your individual picks in an efficient manner (instead of just the “perfect games”), we are transitioning to this Fish Picks submission form. For the rest of April, we will still accept picks here in the fishstripes.com comments and at the @fishstripes Twitter account, but the submission form becomes the new normal on May 1. Picks are only valid if submitted to us prior to first pitch.

At the end of each month, the Fish Picks points leader will receive a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Marlins Lineup

  1. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Adam Duvall
  5. LF Corey Dickerson
  6. CF Lewis Brinson
  7. 3B Jon Berti
  8. C Chad Wallach
  9. LHP Daniel Castano (2021 season stats: 1.80 ERA, 4.27 FIP, 0.0 K%, 11.8 HardHit% in 5.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Don Mattingly gave Brian Anderson (oblique strain) the day off on Wednesday and again tonight before officially placing him on the 10-day injured list. Thankfully, Cooper is expected to avoid the IL, Mattingly says...Since the start of the 2020 season, no pitcher in baseball has a lower strikeout rate than Castano (min. 20 IP)...Corey Dickerson is seeking his 200th career double.

Giants Lineup

  1. CF Austin Slater
  2. 1B Wilmer Flores
  3. RF Mike Yastrzemski
  4. 3B Evan Longoria
  5. LF Darin Ruf
  6. C Curt Casali
  7. 2B Tommy La Stella
  8. SS Mauricio Dubón
  9. RHP Aaron Sanchez (2021 season stats: 2.45 ERA, 3.55 FIP, 19.1 K%, 44.4 HardHit% in 14.2 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Old friend Donovan Solano strained his right calf strain in the last Giants game and won’t be involved in this series. Also, Brandon Crawford (side tightness) could be limited...Sanchez limited the Fish to one run in Saturday’s start with an unorthodox pitch mix, using approximately one-third curveballs, one-third changeups and one-third fastballs (four-seamers and sinkers)...Don’t be misled by his paltry -8 wRC+—Mauricio Dubón has been very unlucky at the plate this season.
