Welcome to Wednesday’s Marlins (7-9, +1 RD) vs. Orioles (8-9, -3 RD) game thread.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks fun. Whether you enter picks here on fishstripes.com or at the @fishstripes Twitter account, it’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

Fans can find the props within game threads like this one or as the pinned tweet on our Twitter account. They will be posted at least four hours prior to the game’s scheduled first pitch (assuming both the Marlins and their opponent declare a probable starting pitcher by then). Generally, there will be five props per game, four about individual/team stats and the final one always being the moneyline pick (which team will win). Picks are only valid if commented or tweeted to us prior to first pitch.

Your goal every day is to “pick a perfect game” and choose the correct outcome for each prop. Whoever has the most perfect games each month receives a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Baseball Savant

Notes: Even with a victory in the series opener, the Orioles have a pitiful 3-13 all-time record in road games against the Marlins...Outfielder Anthony Santander suffered a left ankle sprain while making an awkward stretch back to first base. The results of his MRI haven’t been announced yet, but safe to say, he will be unavailable for the O’s today.

Marlins Lineup

  1. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Adam Duvall
  5. LF Corey Dickerson
  6. CF Lewis Brinson
  7. 3B Jon Berti

  9. LHP Trevor Rogers (2021 season stats: 2.40 ERA, 2.89 FIP, 37.1 K%, 62.1 HardHit% in 15.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Our Marlins roster tracker has been updated to reflect the news that Jorge Alfaro (left hamstring soreness) landed on the injured list and León was selected in a corresponding move. Also, Nick Neidert was optioned to the Fish Tank after Tuesday’s poor outing...Jazz had never started higher than the No. 6 spot in the Marlins lineup until now...Something I didn’t expect to see from this sure-handed Marlins team all season—four straight games committing at least one error, including four in the last two games alone...Corey Dickerson is seeking the 200th double of his career.
