Welcome to Tuesday’s Marlins (7-8, +3 RD) vs. Orioles (7-9, -5 RD) game thread.

During every Marlins game, join in on the Fish Picks fun. Whether you enter picks here on fishstripes.com or at the @fishstripes Twitter account, it’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

Fans can find the props within game threads like this one or as the pinned tweet on our Twitter account. They will be posted at least four hours prior to the game’s scheduled first pitch (assuming both the Marlins and their opponent declare a probable starting pitcher by then). Generally, there will be five props per game, four about individual/team stats and the final one always being the moneyline pick (which team will win). Picks are only valid if commented or tweeted to us prior to first pitch.

Your goal every day is to “pick a perfect game” and choose the correct outcome for each prop. Whoever has the most perfect games each month receives a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Orioles Lineup

  1. CF Cedric Mullins
  2. RF Anthony Santander
  3. LF DJ Stewart
  4. 1B Trey Mancini
  5. 3B Maikel Franco
  6. 2B Rio Ruiz
  7. SS Freddy Galvis
  8. C Chance Sisco
  9. RHP Matt Harvey (2021 season stats: 5.02 ERA, 4.07 FIP, 18.8 K%, 43.8 HardHit% in 14.1 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Our colleagues at Camden Chat point out that the Orioles have a pitiful 2-13 all-time record in road games against the Marlins...Cedric Mullins leads the team in extra-base hits and steals and has the highest Wins Above Replacement among O’s position players...The Marlins reportedly inquired about trading for Anthony Santander last offseason. His bat has been an early-season disappointment (.182/.217/.309, 46 wRC+), largely because the Venezuelan outfielder is pounding everything into the ground (57.5 GB%)...It will be critical to push some runs across while Harvey is on the mound because Baltimore’s bullpen has impressed so far in 2021. Just like the Fish, the Orioles last played on Sunday afternoon and ought to be rested.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Corey Dickerson
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Adam Duvall
  5. 3B Brian Anderson
  6. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  7. C Jorge Alfaro
  8. CF Lewis Brinson
  9. RHP Nick Neidert (2021 season stats: 4.00 ERA, 5.39 FIP, 15.0 K%, 40.0 HardHit% in 9.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Lewis Brinson is indeed coming up from the Fish Tank to take Starling Marte’s roster spot, as first reported by Craig Mish. Our roster tracker has been updated accordingly...After making his first two career starts on the road against the Mets and Braves, this should be an easier assignment for Neidert. He has—uncharacteristically—issued nine walks through nine innings pitched this season. However, the O’s draw walks at the second-lowest rate in the majors (7.2 BB%)...Corey Dickerson is seeking the 200th double of his career.
