Welcome to Sunday’s Marlins (7-7, +4 RD) vs. Giants (8-6, +2 RD) game thread.

Fish Picks has indeed returned for a third season! Whether you enter picks here on fishstripes.com or at the @fishstripes Twitter account, it’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

Fans can find the props within game threads like this one or as the pinned tweet on our Twitter account. They will be posted at least four hours prior to the game’s scheduled first pitch (assuming both the Marlins and their opponent declare a probable starting pitcher by then). Generally, there will be five props per game, four about individual/team stats and the final one always being the moneyline pick (which team will win). Picks are only valid if commented or tweeted to us prior to first pitch.

Your goal every day is to “pick a perfect game” and choose the correct outcome for each prop. Whoever has the most perfect games each month receives a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Giants Lineup

  1. 3B Tommy La Stella
  2. RF Mike Yastrzemski
  3. 2B Donovan Solano
  4. 1B Brandon Belt
  5. LF Alex Dickerson
  6. CF Austin Slater
  7. SS Brandon Crawford
  8. C Curt Casali
  9. LHP Alex Wood (2020 season stats: 2.70 ERA, 3.63 FIP, 17.5 K%, 38.7 HardHit% in 10.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Making his Giants debut, Wood has plenty of history with the Marlins. He has a streak of five consecutive quality starts against them dating back to 2015.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. CF Starling Marte
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Garrett Cooper
  5. LF Adam Duvall
  6. 3B Brian Anderson
  7. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  8. C Chad Wallach
  9. RHP Pablo López (2021 season stats: 4.60 ERA, 4.55 FIP, 25.0 K%, 37.2 HardHit% in 15.2 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Miguel Rojas is the best MLB hitter against left-handed pitching since the start of last season. That’s being helped by a .511 BABIP, but still! Extraordinary. Garrett Cooper isn’t far behind in that department (his 200 wRC+ is seventh-best)...Don Mattingly will hope to stay away from using Yimi García who pitched full innings on each of the previous two days and three of the previous four.
