Welcome to Thursday’s Marlins (5-6, +1 RD) vs. Braves (4-8, -6 RD) game thread. It’s Jackie Robinson Day!
Fans can find the props within game threads like this one or as the pinned tweet on our Twitter account. They will be posted at least four hours prior to the game’s scheduled first pitch (assuming both the Marlins and their opponent declare a probable starting pitcher by then). Generally, there will be five props per game, four about individual/team stats and the final one always being the moneyline pick (which team will win). Picks are only valid if commented or tweeted to us prior to first pitch.
Your goal every day is to “pick a perfect game” and choose the correct outcome for each prop. Whoever has the most perfect games each month receives a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!
The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.
- LF Corey Dickerson
- CF Starling Marte
- 1B Jesús Aguilar
- RF Garrett Cooper
- 3B Brian Anderson
- SS Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- 2B Jon Berti
- C Chad Wallach
- LHP Trevor Rogers (2021 season stats: 1.80 ERA, 1.74 FIP, 40.0 K%, 61.1 HardHit% in 10.0 IP)
Notes: The Marlins are seeking their first four-game sweep of the Braves in franchise history. Yes, you read that correctly. Also, this would be their first Braves series sweep of any kind since Sept. 25-27, 2015...Jesús Aguilar has an opportunity to extend his hitting streak to 10 games in a row, which would establish a new career high...Jazz Chisholm Jr. is among more than 100 MLB players who will donate to The Players Alliance using their Jackie Robinson Day gameday salary.
- RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
- 1B Freddie Freeman
- LF Marcell Ozuna
- 2B Ozzie Albies
- SS Dansby Swanson
- 3B Austin Riley
- CF Guillermo Heredia
- C Alex Jackson
- RHP Ian Anderson (2021 season stats: 4.35 ERA, 5.27 FIP, 31.0 K%, 50.0 HardHit% in 10.1 IP)
Notes: It’s not recency bias—at the tender age of 23, Ronald Acuña Jr. has already put himself in the discussion for greatest Marlins killer of all time. His career 1.128 OPS against the Fish is even higher than Barry Bonds’ was (1.116)...With the help of a nasty changeup, Anderson has been equally effective versus lefties and righties, actually racking up strikeouts at a higher rate when he’s at a platoon disadvantage...Rogers is going to be only the second left-handed starter that Atlanta has faced this season, the other being veteran Matt Moore who made it through five mediocre innings last Sunday.
