Welcome to Tuesday’s Marlins (3-6, -6 RD) vs. Braves (4-6, +1 RD) game thread.

Fish Picks has indeed returned for a third season! Whether you enter picks here on fishstripes.com or at the @fishstripes Twitter account, it’s always free to participate and the prizes are real.

Fans can find the props within game threads like this one or as the pinned tweet on our Twitter account. They will be posted at least four hours prior to the game’s scheduled first pitch (assuming both the Marlins and their opponent declare a probable starting pitcher by then). Generally, there will be five props per game, four about individual/team stats and the final one always being the moneyline pick (which team will win). Picks are only valid if commented or tweeted to us prior to first pitch.

Your goal every day is to “pick a perfect game” and choose the correct outcome for each prop. Whoever has the most perfect games each month receives a t-shirt of their choice from our partners at Legends of Dade!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will be updated daily.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. CF Starling Marte
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Garrett Cooper
  5. LF Adam Duvall
  6. 3B Brian Anderson
  7. 2B Jon Berti
  8. C Jorge Alfaro
  9. RHP Pablo López (2021 season stats: 1.54 ERA, 3.57 FIP, 23.8 K%, 32.1 HardHit% in 11.2 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: For real this time, Alfaro is back from his left hamstring issue (last played April 6)...Including the postseason, this will be Pablo’s 10th time facing the Braves in his career (he hasn’t faced any other team more than seven times). He’s had more matchups with Freddie Freeman (23 plate appearances) than any other batter during his MLB career, yielding a .238/.261/.286 slash line to the reigning NL MVP.

Braves Lineup

  1. RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
  2. 1B Freddie Freeman
  3. LF Marcell Ozuna
  4. C Travis d’Arnaud
  5. 2B Ozzie Albies
  6. SS Dansby Swanson
  7. 3B Ehire Adrianza
  8. CF Cristian Paché
  9. LHP Max Fried (2021 season stats: 9.00 ERA, 3.57 FIP, 28.2 K%, 37.5 HardHit% in 7.0 IP)
Baseball Savant

Notes: Austin Riley, Alex Jackson and Ender Inciarte all come out of the lineup after starting the series opener...The last left-handed batter to homer against Max Fried in a regular season game? Corey Dickerson—then as a member of the Phillies—on Sept. 10, 2019...Marcell Ozuna finally delivered his first run batted in of 2021, but he’s still stuck on zero extra-base hits. This 10-game XBH drought is among the longest of his career.
