Aside from a silly twitter badge, it’s been an extremely quiet past few days. Here’s all I got in terms of Marlins “news”...
- Good ol’ Bob Nightengale appears to have jumped the gun in reporting that the Trevor Bauer is signing with the Mets. Per multiple other insiders, that looks like it will be the reigning NL Cy Young award winner’s landing spot, but the Dodgers remain involved in talks for him as well.
- MLB.com’s Christina De Nicola challenges you to name these five members of the 2008 Marlins.

- On Thursday morning, I updated the performances of Marlins players in the 2021 Caribbean Series. On Thursday night, Harold Ramirez’s Colombian team was eliminated from the competition, capping off a busy winter for him.
- One surprise on Baseball America’s updated Marlins Top 30 prospect list: the inclusion of Daniel Castano (No. 26). Their staff is putting some stock in his 2020 MLB production despite his age (nearly halfway to his 27th birthday) and some red flags in his peripherals.
- Anthony Bass is determined to get back to the postseason and says he wants to throw his splitter more often this season.
- Miguel Rojas was the subject of a new interview too. Awesome custom artwork by Ari Solomon.
- David Samson is still bitter about Derek Jeter running the Fish and paints a worrisome picture about the franchise’s financial well-being.
- Talking Chop rates Brian Anderson as the best third baseman in the NL East.
- Bleacher Report believes the Marlins could finally go on a spending spree next winter, signing Anthony Rizzo and Javier Báez.
- Kim Ng was hyper-aggressive (and successful) at the plate during her junior year on the University of Chicago varsity softball team.
