- Kameron Misner became the first Marlins player in recent memory to homer multiple times in an Arizona Fall League game. Man on Second Baseball’s Joe Frisaro spoke to AFL teammate JJ Bleday about how he has developed as a hitter this year.
- Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports that Paul Campbell’s season was cut short by “elbow trouble” (which explains why he didn’t appear in any of the Marlins’ final 14 games). She expects Campbell to be waived off the 40-man roster after the postseason ends. Assuming he isn’t claimed by another team, the Marlins will have the flexibility to outright the 26-year-old to Jacksonville and keep him in the organization.
- Speaking of the postseason, the Braves led wire to wire in their World Series Game 1 victory over the Astros. Old friend Adam Duvall homered again.
- Charlie Morton broke his leg and won’t be available for the rest of the series. The Braves already extended his contract through 2022 and they tentatively expect him to be fully recovered for the start of next season.

- The new episode of Outside the Box with Jeff Conine features son Griffin Conine, who vows to find a more consistent setup and strategy at the plate. “I was so wrapped up in what I was doing in the box that I had no space left to process counts and approaches and game situations. That’s it for me. Once I figure that out, it will open the door for a lot of good things to happen.”
