Welcome to Thursday’s Marlins (28-28) vs. Braves (34-22) game thread. This is a must-win game for the Marlins...assuming there is a game—the Atlanta weather forecast calls for rain throughout much of the night.

Fish Picks is BACK and better than ever! Our free-to-play daily prop bets contest is open to all fans. The 2020 full-season points leader will be decided this week. Whoever finishes on top gets their pick of three new Marlins-themed t-shirts.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Baseball Savant

Notes: Magneuris Sierra has returned from his month-long stay on the injured list and Daniel Castano was recalled from the alternate training site. They are replacing Josh A. Smith (10-day IL) and Nick Neidert (optioned)...Pablo went six strong innings in his start against the Braves Aug. 14, but couldn’t even complete two frames in a rematch earlier this month (the infamous 29-9 game)...The Marlins have yet to use Brad Boxberger and Brandon Kintzler in this series. Expect to see some or both of them tonight if the club has a late-inning lead to protect.

Braves Lineup

  1. CF Ronald Acuña Jr.
  2. 1B Freddie Freeman
  3. DH Marcell Ozuna
  4. C Travis d’Arnaud
  5. 2B Ozzie Albies
  6. LF Adam Duvall
  7. SS Dansby Swanson
  8. RF Nick Markakis
  9. 3B Adeiny Hechavarría

P Ian Anderson (2.36 ERA, 2.84 FIP, 31.5 K%, 31.7 Hard Hit% in 26.2 IP)

Notes: The Braves bullpen has already worked 18 innings during this series.
