MLB: Game Two-Philadelphia Phillies at Miami Marlins Rhona Wise-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to Monday’s Marlins (23-21) vs. Phillies (23-22) game thread.

Fish Picks is BACK and better than ever! Our free-to-play daily prop bets contest is open to all fans. Courtesy of a new Fish Stripes partnership with Fantom Drip, weekly points leaders will win their choice of a Marlins face covering (five different varieties available) or the exclusive Fish Stripes design. The 2020 full-season points leader gets their pick of two new Marlins-themed t-shirts.

Congrats to @MiamiMarlins_UK on his hard-fought victory last week.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Baseball Savant

Notes: Injuries to J.T. Realmuto (hip) and Rhys Hoskins (forearm) have depleted Philly’s lineup depth at the worst possible time...The 21-year-old Marchan is making his major league debut.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Corey Dickerson
  2. CF Starling Marte
  3. DH Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Matt Joyce
  5. 1B Garrett Cooper
  6. SS Jazz Chisholm
  7. 3B Miguel Rojas
  8. 2B Isan Díaz
  9. C Chad Wallach

P Pablo López (4.50 ERA, 3.16 FIP, 23.0 K%, 31.4 Hard Hit% in 40.0 IP)

Baseball Savant

Notes: Jorge Alfaro’s day off comes as no surprise considering that he had caught each of the last seven days. Interestingly, Brian Anderson is getting a breather, too. He has played in all 44 Marlins games this season. That moves the versatile Rojas to the hot corner, his first appearance there since 2018...Entering his last start in Atlanta, López consistently ranked among the MLB leaders in ground ball rate. We saw how critical that was on Sunday when Sixto Sánchez and Braxton Garrett managed occasional hard contact by preventing the Phillies from getting the ball elevated...Can I interest you in some Marlins highlights from the previous week?
