After a long deliberation period, the Marlins and Mets players decided to take the field as scheduled at 7:10 p.m. ET Thursday night. But instead of first pitch, they observed a 42-second moment of silence in honor of Jackie Robinson, covered home plate with a Black Lives Matter t-shirt and returned to their respective clubhouses.

The game has been postponed—along with all other night games across Major League Baseball—in protest of racial inequality. We don’t yet have a make-up date for it.
The Marlins begin a three-game series against the Rays Friday night in Miami.
