Welcome to Tuesday’s Marlins (12-11) vs. Mets (12-14) game thread. It’s another funky doubleheader! Seven-inning games with a 29th man active on each team’s roster. The Marlins will get last licks during the night cap (though both contests are officially considered road games).
Fish Picks is BACK and better than ever! Our free-to-play daily prop bets contest is open to all fans. Courtesy of a new Fish Stripes partnership with Fantom Drip, weekly points leaders will win their choice of a Marlins face covering (five different varieties available) or the exclusive Fish Stripes design.
Congrats to Carlos Rodriguez! He is a Fish Picks winner for the second time this season. Point totals have been reset for Week 4, putting everybody on equal footing. New props for this game are at the bottom of this article.
The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.
Marlins Game 1 Lineup
- 2B Jonathan Villar
- DH Matt Joyce
- LF Corey Dickerson
- 3B Brian Anderson
- 1B Lewin Díaz
- C Jorge Alfaro
- RF Jesús Sánchez
- CF Lewis Brinson
- SS Miguel Rojas
P Daniel Castano (5.91 ERA, 6.88 FIP, 15.2 K%, 41.2 Hard Hit% in 10.2 IP)

Probable Game 2 starter: Trevor Rogers (MLB debut)
Notes: Rookie batters have been a big liability to the Marlins lineup through the first month of the season (.172/.267/.237, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 36.2 K% in 105 PA). Jesús Sánchez and Lewin Díaz will be trusted to improve upon that...Brinson’s offensive struggles are well documented, but Citi Field has been especially problematic so far in his career (.328 OPS in 68 PA)...Unless Castano twirls a gem, this is shaping up to be his final start for the foreseeable future...Expect Joyce to reach base twice in this game. Gotta love arbitrary sample sizes!

Probable Game 2 starter: Seth Lugo (2.61 ERA, 2.84 FIP, 27.5 K%, 29.6 Hard Hit% in 10.1 IP)
Notes: Coaches Gary DiSarcina and Hensley Meulens are not with the Mets on Tuesday. Their absences are potentially related to the team’s COVID-19 incident in Miami last week. If so, we wish them speedy recoveries!
