Welcome to Wednesday’s Marlins (9-8) vs. Mets (11-14) game thread.
Fish Picks is BACK and better than ever! Our free-to-play daily prop bets contest is open to all fans. Courtesy of a new Fish Stripes partnership with Fantom Drip, weekly points leaders will win their choice of a Marlins face covering (five different varieties available) or the exclusive Fish Stripes design.
The Week 2 competition went down to the wire—congrats to Twitter user @LV4tuna! Point totals have now been reset for Week 3, so it’s as good a time as any to join in.
The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Notes: Jonathan Villar is on the bench, leaving Aguilar and Anderson as the only players to start every Marlins game this season...This will be Dickerson’s first action in the outfield since Aug. 11...Don Mattingly said pregame that the Fish are still awaiting the results of Pat Venditte’s MRI and haven’t made any new roster moves. Venditte is expected to land on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain...For the first time since July 25, the Marlins’ run differential for the season has dropped below zero. Even when including all of their glorious highs, this is a below-average MLB team overall, and that’s what I’m expecting from them moving forward until proven otherwise.
How to watch/listen/follow
