Welcome to Saturday’s Marlins (9-4) vs. Braves (11-10) game thread.

Fish Picks is BACK and better than ever! Our free-to-play daily prop bets contest is open to all fans. Courtesy of a new Fish Stripes partnership with Fantom Drip, weekly points leaders will win their choice of a Marlins face covering (five different varieties available) or the exclusive Fish Stripes design. After selecting our first prize winner on August 9, point totals have been reset for this week.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Braves Lineup

  1. SS Dansby Swanson
  2. C Travis d’Arnaud
  3. 1B Freddie Freeman
  4. DH Marcell Ozuna
  5. RF Adam Duvall
  6. 3B Johan Camargo
  7. LF Austin Riley
  8. 2B Adeiny Hechavarría
  9. CF Ender Inciarte

P Max Fried (1.59 ERA, 2.33 FIP, 24.4 K%, 26.3 Hard Hit% in 22.2 IP)

Baseball Savant

Notes: The Braves are in the midst of a season-worst four-game losing streak. Their starting rotation has been taxed by injuries and underachievement. On the position player side, they’re missing Ozzie Albies, Matt Adams and Marlins nemesis Ronald Acuña Jr. for this series...Fried has started against Miami on four occasions. Despite an impressive ratio of 24 strikeouts to four walks (19 innings pitched), he has posted a 6.16 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in those matchups.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Jonathan Villar
  2. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  3. C Francisco Cervelli
  4. DH Brian Anderson
  5. 2B Logan Forsythe
  6. LF Lewis Brinson
  7. RF Jon Berti
  8. 3B Eddy Alvarez
  9. CF Monte Harrison

P Daniel Castano (8.31 ERA, 7.97 FIP, 20.0 K%, 33.3 Hard Hit% in 4.1 IP)

Notes: Sandy Alcantara and Miguel Rojas are healthy and on the verge of reporting to Jupiter, Craig Mish reports. Huge reinforcements for the Marlins’ playoff push, though don’t expect to see them activated on this homestand...Corey Dickerson is absent because he has been placed on the bereavement list, with power-hitting prospect Lewin Díaz taking his place on the active roster...The Fish have stolen four bases in each of the last two games and they’ve been successful on 11 straight attempts overall. It’s an incredible turnaround from their 2019 baserunning struggles. More about that here.
