Welcome to Tuesday’s Marlins (7-3) vs. Blue Jays (5-8) game thread. The Canadian government denied the Blue Jays permission to play the 2020 season at their regular home ballpark, Rogers Centre. Beginning with this series opener, they’ll be moving those games to the Triple-A venue Sahlen Field in Buffalo, NY. This marks the first time since 1915 that the city has hosted major league competition.

Fish Picks is BACK and better than ever! Our free-to-play daily prop bets contest is open to all fans. Courtesy of a new Fish Stripes partnership with Fantom Drip, weekly points leaders will win their choice of a Marlins face covering (five different varieties available) or the exclusive Fish Stripes design below. Notes: For the 11th straight game, manager Don Mattingly has crafted a unique lineup. Here’s a look at the first 10...Coming off a frustrating four-strikeout performance, Monte gets a favorable matchup against a left-hander with middling fastball velocity. Aram Leighton points out that he raked with the platoon advantage at Triple-A last season...Macho Marlins Man joined Alex and Red on the latest Marlins Barbecue to trash talk the Blue Jays, referring to their mascot as “the weakest bird in all of the animal kingdom.”

Baseball Savant

Notes: Vlad Jr. and Bichette understandably get most of the attention, but Hernandez is actually the club’s leader in extra-base hits (8), average exit velocity (93.5 mph) and hard hit rate (60%)...Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic has more about the rushed makeover process that brought Sahlen Field up to MLB standards.
