Miami-Dade County and the Marlins have moved quickly to set up a drive-through coronavirus testing site at Marlins Park. Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced new details about it Tuesday afternoon.

To summarize:

  • A call center is open now at 305-499-8767 to make appointments. Only people ages 65 and older who are exhibiting possible COVID-19 symptoms are eligible to be tested.
  • The testing begins on Wednesday morning.
  • People with appointments can be accompanied/driven by one other individual.
  • No walk-ups! Please approach the ballpark in a vehicle, and only if you already have a confirmed appointment.

If unavailable to make your appointment this afternoon/evening, the call center re-opens Wednesday at 9 a.m.

For those who would be inconvenienced by a long trip, Gimenez says additional testing sites are being planned for South Dade and West Kendall.
