Ely discusses the competition for the final two spots in the Marlins starting rotation (2:45), then is joined by Anthony Garcia for a play-by-play report from Saturday’s Marlins FanFest (14:00). Attendance for the event was announced as 17,000, up from 12,000 the previous year. Stick around for interviews with manager Don Mattingly (36:00) and shortstop prospect Jazz Chisholm (46:15).
Enjoy Episode 60!
Seemingly still on the trade block, José Ureña will be preparing for the 2020 season as a starter. In case the Marlins are unable to find a reasonable deal for him, the veteran right-hander will compete against the likes of Jordan Yamamoto, Elieser Hernandez and Robert Dugger for a spot on the staff while trying to hold off promising prospects Sixto Sánchez and Nick Neidert.
In addition to Anthony’s coverage, Fish Stripes had photographer Danis Sosa (@dsosaphotography/Instagram) on the scene at Marlins Park to capture all of the positive vibes.
Another reminder! Tickets to Fish Stripes Night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium are on sale. Join us in Jupiter on Thursday night, February 27 for a Spring Training game between the Marlins and Mets.
