Welcome to Tuesday’s Marlins vs. Braves National League Division Series game thread. It’s a best-of-five series between NL East rivals who met 10 times during the 2020 regular season (Braves won six of those games).

If you are the optimistic and adventurous type, NLCS and World Series tickets just went on sale to the general public (limited supply, obviously).

The Fish Picks contest is continuing for the postseason! Free-to-play daily prop bets for all fans to make. The points leader at the end of the NLDS gets their choice of our new Marlins-themed t-shirts.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup

  1. 2B Jon Berti
  2. DH Jesús Aguilar
  3. 1B Garrett Cooper
  4. 3B Brian Anderson
  5. SS Miguel Rojas
  6. LF Corey Dickerson
  7. RF Lewis Brinson
  8. C Chad Wallach
  9. CF Magneuris Sierra

P Sandy Alcantara (3.00 ERA, 3.72 FIP, 22.7 K%, 32.5 Hard Hit%, in 42.0 IP)

Baseball Savant

Notes: Starling Marte (fractured pinkie) will not be eligible for this series, putting pressure on Brinson and Sierra to provide quality at-bats. Just added to the active roster, Daniel Castano, Sean Rodríguez and Nick Vincent take the places of Lewin Díaz, Stephen Tarpley and Marte...The Marlins offense struggled against left-handed starters like Max Fried for most of the regular season, but picked up three such wins in recent weeks (against Mike Kickham, Partick Corbin and JA Happ)...Join Alex Contreras and Red Garcia for an early barbecue covering NLDS storylines! Alex also made a guest appearance on Fish Across The Pond.

  7. LF Adam Duvall
  8. RF Nick Markakis
  9. 3B Austin Riley

P Max Fried (2.25 ERA, 3.10 FIP, 22.3 K%, 23.2 Hard Hit% in 56.0 IP)

Baseball Savant

Notes: Wild Card Series players William Contreras and Johan Camargo were removed from Atlanta’s roster, replaced by Bryse Wilson and Huascar Ynoa...Fried worked 6 13 scoreless innings against Miami on Aug. 15, but only one inning on Sept. 23, surrendering home runs to Aguilar and Anderson (he exited that start as a precaution after twisting his left ankle)...Duvall homered five times off Marlins pitching this season; no other player did that more than three times.
