Welcome to Friday’s Marlins (1-0) vs. Cubs (0-1) game thread for Game 2 of the 2020 Wild Card Series. The Chicago forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, but there’s seemingly no risk of another postponement. Win and the Marlins are heading to the NLDS for a matchup with the Braves.

Here’s a recap of the series opener:

The Fish Picks contest is continuing for these critical games! Free-to-play daily prop bets for all fans to make. Prizes includes these new Marlins-themed t-shirts.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup (same as posted on Thursday)

  1. LF Corey Dickerson
  2. 2B Jon Berti
  3. DH Jesús Aguilar
  4. 3B Brian Anderson
  5. 1B Garrett Cooper
  6. RF Matt Joyce
  7. SS Miguel Rojas
  8. CF Magneuris Sierra
  9. C Chad Wallach

P Sixto Sánchez (3.46 ERA, 3.50 FIP, 20.9 K%, 33.9 Hard Hit% in 39.0 IP)

Baseball Savant

Notes: In the aftermath of Starling Marte’s left pinkie injury, most Fish Stripes Twitter followers endorsed Lewis Brinson to take his place in center field. He could still pinch-hit for Sierra later in the game if the Cubs bring in a left-hander from the bullpen to handle a high-leverage situation...During his most recent start, Sixto allowed baserunners on each of his four main pitches (sinker, four-seamer, changeup and slider). But the characteristics of those pitches were more or less the same as what we’ve grown accustomed to, giving the Fish confidence to start him in this critical situation.

Cubs Lineup (same as posted on Thursday)

  1. CF Ian Happ
  2. 1B Anthony Rizzo
  3. DH Willson Contreras
  4. LF Kyle Schwarber
  5. 3B Kris Bryant
  6. RF Jason Heyward
  7. SS Javier Báez
  8. 2B David Bote
  9. C Victor Caratini

P Yu Darvish (2.01 ERA, 2.23 FIP, 31.3 K%, 34.0 Hard Hit% in 76.0 IP)

Baseball Savant

Notes: Bote is the only new name for the Cubs who didn’t start Game 1...The numbers speak for themselves—Darvish is among the best handful of starting pitchers in the majors. However, he is especially vulnerable to the running game. Opponents have a 91.9% success rate (34-for-37) attempting to steal against him since he signed with the Cubs in 2018.

How to watch/listen/follow
