After designating Austin Dean for assignment last week, the club found a familiar trade partner for him in the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Marlins got a Dominican teenager by the name of Diowill Burgos in return, forcing MLB Pipeline to update their prospect rankings to accomodate him.

As you wish Dean well with his new club, remember his final season in Miami here.

Jazz trusts the process

While it’s great to see the players are buying into “the process” of the rebuild and what the Jeter regime has been doing to create a competitive franchise, it’s even better to see the payoff.

Another departure:

Catcher Bryan Holaday, who caught 104 games over the past two seasons with the Marlins, signed a minor-league deal with the Orioles.
