Royals Lineup

  1. 2B Whit Merrifield
  2. SS Adalberto Mondesi
  3. RF Jorge Soler
  4. 3B Hunter Dozier
  5. LF Alex Gordon
  6. 1B Ryan McBroom
  7. C Nick Dini
  8. CF Bubba Starling
  9. SP Danny Duffy (4.89 ERA, 5.00 FIP, 20.2 K%, 35.1 Hard Hit% in 106.2 IP)

Notes: We saw the Royals’ baserunning make an impact on Friday’s game. Expect more of the same the rest of this series—they are tied for the MLB lead in both stolen bases (106) and bunt hits (27)...Duffy has very good results in his career against interleague opponents (3.34 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 26.4 K% in 105.0 IP).

Baseball Savant

Marlins Lineup

  1. 3B Jon Berti
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. 2B Starlin Castro
  4. 1B Garrett Cooper
  5. C Jorge Alfaro
  6. RF Harold Ramirez
  7. LF Austin Dean
  8. CF Lewis Brinson
  9. SP Caleb Smith (4.30 ERA, 4.97 FIP, 28.2 K%, 36.3 Hard Hit% in 127.2 IP)

Notes: Duffy has not shown any meaningful platoon splits this season, yet Don Mattingly felt compelled to stack his lineup entirely with right-handed bats...Fans attending tonight are urged to arrive early. The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will have a pre-game presentation to honor Rojas as the 2019 Marlins winner of the Heart and Hustle Award. Very deserving...Speaking of intangibles, Sandy Alcantara showed maturity beyond his years this morning. Rather than taking it easy on his 24th birthday, the All-Star right-hander led a fundraiser in Hialeah for youth baseball equipment.
