Martin Prado broke out of a months-long drought to blast his 100th career home run and Miguel Rojas “managed” the Marlins to a 4-3 win over the Phillies on Sunday in their final game of the 2019 season. Overall, they posted a 57-105 record and minus-193 run differential.

  • Sandy Alcantara: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 HR (99 pitches)
  • Blake Parker: 1.0 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 2 HR (21 pitches)

In addition to Prado, Starlin Castro and Isan Díaz went deep for the 22nd and fifth time, respectively.

Alcantara allowed a solo shot to Brad Miller in the third. As his lead was being threatened in the sixth, the rookie right-hander dialed it up to 97.8 miles per hour for a strikeout to escape the jam.

Tyler Kinley entered with one out in the ninth inning to convert his first career save.

The Marlins will play their next organized baseball game on Feb. 22, 2020 to open up Grapefruit League competition against the Mets in Port St. Lucie. Only 146 days away! In the interim, you bet Fish Stripes will cover all angles of the season that was and what to expect moving forward.
