Nationals Lineup

  1. SS Trea Turner
  2. RF Adam Eaton
  3. 3B Anthony Rendon
  4. LF Juan Soto
  5. 1B Howie Kendrick
  6. 2B Asdrúbal Cabrera
  7. CF Víctor Robles
  8. C Yan Gomes
  9. SP Aníbal Sánchez (3.86 ERA, 4.44 FIP, 19.0 K%, 27.6 Hard Hit% in 154.0 IP)

Notes: The Nats were seemingly a lock for an NL Wild Card spot when these teams last faced, but dropping 10 of their 16 games since then have put that in some doubt. It’s worth noting, though, that it was a particularly rough stretch of their schedule—back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back series against contenders...Working beyond three innings tonight would give Sánchez his highest single-season total since 2013. This will be his 14th career start at Marlins Park (fifth start as an opponent).

Baseball Savant

Marlins Lineup

  1. CF Jon Berti
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. 1B Neil Walker
  4. 3B Starlin Castro
  5. 2B Isan Díaz
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. RF Lewis Brinson
  8. LF Austin Dean
  9. SP Robert Dugger (3.95 ERA, 5.30 FIP, 14.8 K%, 40.7 Hard Hit% in 27.1 IP)

Notes: Our own Danny Martinez notes that despite Isan’s overall struggles in the majors, he has done better under certain game conditions...As planned, the home run sculpture is coming back in 2020, just in a new, less obnoxious location....Here is a quick write-up on the Rojas and Don Mattingly contract extension details, including video of the full press conference.
