Marlins Lineup
- 3B Jon Berti
- SS Miguel Rojas
- 2B Starlin Castro
- C Jorge Alfaro
- RF Harold Ramirez
- 1B Martín Prado
- CF Lewis Brinson
- LF Austin Dean
- SP Pablo López (4.97 ERA, 4.31 FIP, 21.3 K%, 36.3 Hard Hit% in 96.0 IP)
Notes: Nice Curtis Granderson interview on WBUR available here, reflecting on his philanthropy, how he was introduced to baseball and the moment as a minor leaguer when he considered walking away from the game...Andre Fernandez of The Athletic speaks one-on-one with Don Mattingly, who is in what we expect to be his final few weeks as Marlins manager (subscription required). He’s refreshingly honest, though he doesn’t confirm his fate one way or the other...Left-hander Josh Smith is available to pitch in relief tonight for the first time since being claimed off waivers from the Indians...On the latest Fish Stripes podcast episode, Danny Martinez announces the nominees for the 2019 Fishys. Listen and vote!
Diamondbacks Lineup
- 2B Wilmer Flores
- LF Josh Rojas
- CF Ketel Marte
- 3B Eduardo Escobar
- 1B Jake Lamb
- RF Adam Jones
- SS Nick Ahmed
- C Carson Kelly
- SP Robbie Ray (4.30 ERA, 4.27 FIP, 30.9 K%, 37.8 Hard Hit% in 157.0 IP)
Notes: Zac Gallen continues to perform well since being sent to the desert at the trade deadline (2.89 ERA, 3.65 FIP, 1.26 WHIP in 43.2 IP). He just pitched on Sunday, though, so the Marlins won’t have to face him during this series...Arizona’s NL Wild Card hopes are on life support—anything short of a sweep for them would be a nail in the coffin. The main culprit for the recent slump is the offense. So far in September, the D-backs have a 61 wRC+ (100 is league average), which ranks 29th in the majors.
