A full report on the Clinton LumberKings featuring one of their recent bright spots: right-hander Remey Reed (8:15). Working exclusively as a starter for the first time in his career within the Marlins organization, the 24-year-old discusses the importance of developing his changeup and how long absences due to shoulder and elbow injuries made him better equipped for pro ball.
Enjoy Episode 19 of A-Ball!
Reed’s 2019 stats leap off the page. After dominating in his five outings for Short Season A Batavia (1.73 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 32.4 K% in 26.0 IP), it has been more of the same for him in Clinton’s rotation (1.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 23.5 K% in 23.2 IP).
As Reed describes on the show, he focuses on establishing his fastball on the inner half of the plate, then unleashing a nasty, 12-to-6 curveball.

Health permitting, expect Reed to open up the 2020 season in High-A Jupiter, facing competition closer to his own age.
