Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Jon Berti
  2. 2B Isan Díaz
  3. 1B Garrett Cooper
  4. RF Brian Anderson
  5. 3B Starlin Castro
  6. LF Harold Ramírez
  7. CF Lewis Brinson
  8. C Jorge Alfaro
  9. P Robert Dugger (Double-A/Triple-A stats: 5.33 ERA, 4.35 FIP, 21.8 K% in 106.1 IP)

Notes: Brinson, Díaz, Dugger and trade acquisition Ryne Stanek have all been newly added to the roster, with Kyle Keller heading down to Triple-A New Orleans and César Puello (left hip flexor strain) and Neil Walker (right index finger sprain) suffering injuries. Veteran right-hander Héctor Noesí has also joined the team—not officially placed on roster yet—and will presumably make an appearance in this series...A consensus Top 30 prospect in the Marlins farm system, Dugger is quietly among the organizational leaders in innings pitched and strikeouts since arriving in the Dee Gordon trade, though he’s been hammered through seven starts at Triple-A prior to this opportunity. That being said, all eyes will be on Brinson and Díaz, who the Marlins hope will each settle in as productive everyday players down the stretch.

Notably absent from the game one lineup, expect both Miguel Rojas and Bryan Holaday to be in the lineup for the nightcap.

Mets Lineup

  1. 2B Jeff McNeil
  2. SS Amed Rosario
  3. RF Michael Conforto
  4. 1B Pete Alonso
  5. LF J.D. Davis
  6. 3B Todd Frazier
  7. C Tomás Nido
  8. CF Juan Lagares
  9. P Jacob deGrom (2.78 ERA, 2.83 FIP, 31.6 K%, 33.9 Hard Hit% in 136.0 IP)

Notes: Arguably the hottest team in the majors, the Mets enter this series having won nine of their last 10 games. deGrom’s individual dominance dates back much further—he’s turned in quality starts in 10 of his last 11 outings, posting a 1.97 earned run average and 34.0% strikeout rate during that stretch.
