Welcome to Sunday’s Rays (64-48) vs. Marlins (42-66) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. Each monthly points leader for August and September wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. We’re also saving something special for the overall full-season points leader. The best seller in our store: Caleb “KKKKKKKaleb” Smith shirts!

Congratulations to our July 2019 winner, @dee_marlins! This was easily the most competitive month for the contest so far, with several of you in contention entering the final game. More of the same in August, hopefully.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Notes: The highest single-season strikeout total by a Marlins left-hander over the past decade is 125 by Mark Buehrle in 2012. KKKKKKKaleb enters today with 119...After serving up the game-winning homer on Saturday, Jarlin García’s 20-inning scoreless streak was snapped. Speaking of scoreless streaks, Austin Brice had a nice one going before landing on the injured list with a forearm strain. Brice just pitched a smooth inning with High-A Jupiter on rehab, putting on track to rejoin the active roster in the next 7-10 days.

Rays Lineup

  1. 3B Matt Duffy

P Yonny Chirinos (3.70 ERA, 4.14 FIP, 21.8 K%, 33.5 Hard Hit% in 121.2 IP)

Notes: The Rays are seeking a sweep of the Citrus Series for just the second time in the history of the rivalry (4-0 vs. Marlins in 2013).
